Being nominated as finalists against some really strong national competition was very exciting.

We were thrilled to be nominated as finalists in two categories for the high-profile Premier Digital Awards recently! The website that got us there was a website the Open Water team designed and built for Cornerstone City Church. The hotly-contested annual awards encourage and recognise excellence in Christian engagement online, and judges selected our innovative website to go up against global names such as Alpha in the categories of: 1. Best new or redesigned website and 2. Most engaging small church website.

Being nominated as finalists against some really strong national competition was very exciting, then to be awarded runners-up for the category of ‘Most engaging small church website’ was an awesome result! The project began with Cornerstone approaching us for help establishing a new style for their brand and website to re-launch the church with a new vision. To fit with this vision, the church’s new website would place the community at its very core – so making it easy to deliver content and information to users was crucial. As well as creating page templates for simple page addition and content amends, it was also key that the site was fully interactive with easily shared content. So, we created clickable hashtags on the site’s news pages to encourage active involvement from users. A fresh look and vibrant colour theme for the site were also important to reflect the church’s fresh perspective and modern approach.

It was a fantastic achievement to make it to the finals in two categories – so to be placed as runners-up for ‘Most engaging small church website’ was incredible, and a real credit to the team that worked on the project.

We’re pretty excited to also have been at the Kent Digital Awards for two other websites we’ve recently branded, designed and built that made it into their finals! Emmanuel is a finalist in the School, Education or Charity category. Again in the church sector, Emmanuel asked us to give their website a welcoming, inclusive feel while providing clean, simple navigation and layout. Its purpose is to make it easy for the community to engage and get involved with the church, and the website’s uncluttered design is central to this. The Ambrette Restaurant website achieved a silver award in the Tourism and Hospitality category. With three restaurants within this single website, a distinctive, elegant feel with clear and simple navigation was crucial. Build quality and stability was of paramount importance to support the site’s online booking facility and regularly updated content. We're so pleased that all the hard work that has gone into these sites has been so well recieved.
